1) Go to https://tnbear.tn.gov/ecommerce/default.aspx
2) Click on "Find and Update a Business Record"
3) Enter the true name of the LLC in the search name box. You can also search by the control number
4) Click on the control number
5) In "Available Entity Actions" click on more
6) Click on register an assumed name
7) Click on "Start Now" in the red box
8) Verify the LLC information
9) Enter the assumed name and confirm the name
10) Check the box and enter the name and contact information of the authorized representative
11) Pay

2. The Application for Registration of Assumed Business Name should be typed or hand-printed in dark blue or black ink.
3. Make check, cashier’s check or money order payable to the Tennessee Secretary of State.
