1. Check the box Limited Liability Company (LLC)
2. List the requested name (must include the suffix LLC)
a) To check name availability, go to https://www.sos.alabama.gov/and click on Business Services (below the picture), then click on Business Entity Search
3. Enter the name and address of the entity or individual requesting the name reservation
4. Enter the mailing address
5. Enter the date and signature
6. Fill out the payment form
There's multiple ways to submit this form - online, by mail, via fax, in-person.
Submit it online
1. Go to https://www.sos.alabama.gov/
2. Click on Business Services (under picture)
3. Scroll down to Name Reservation Menu
4. Click on Name Reservation
5. Click "Continue to application" for Non-Subscriber or Login if you are a subscriber
6. List contact information
7. List the name requested and add LLC
8. Check the box for the type of reservation
9. Check the box for the type of entity
(a) Limited Liability Company (LLC)
10. Click "Name reservation only"
11. Requestor information
12. Review and check the box
13. Enter credit card information
14. Submit payment
15. The document is obtained immediately after payment
Submit it by mail
1. Print and fill out the form (including the payment form)
2. Mail 2 copies of this completed form along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Secretary of State, Business Services, P.O. Box 5616, Montgomery, Alabama 36103
3. Include a check, money order, or credit card payment
